SPORTS TALK RADIO
I currentl reside in the Washington DC metro area and growing up in NY I have had the pleasure of listening to WFAN. All sports talk radio is not the same. Right now somewhere around the world on a radio or through the web someone is talking about sports. We all love sports and in this article I will share some of my favorites and give some insight on the radio business. First off On WFAN NY for many years was The Mike and The Mad Dog show. In 2007 the show ended after a long run and both personalities have thier own shows. Mike Francessa is on thesame time slot between 1-6 on WFAN. Chris “Mad Dog” Russo does work on Sirus. They knew each other in and out and thier differing views on certain topics made the show into a hit. The show was so popular the YES network decided to air it on television. Also another good sports talk tandem is Mike and Mike which can be heard on ESPN radio. Mike Golic and Mike Greenberg are two different guys both in ideal and build. Golic a former NFL player and Greenberg a chisled radio vet offer their opinions on everything.
On a different side of sports is David Stein from Sporting News Radio. David’s show is the celebration of life through sports. This show does not break down games and give scores or follow up on trades. His show is about peoples experiences and how they get through their daily lives through sport. He has what’s called the Sports calender challenge. This is where people can try to cure some of thier vices one sporting event to another. The callers on the show support each other through gambling, drug, and alcohol addictions. This is a unique program and is on from 2AM-6AM
Wether or not you listen to talk radio or not, Most people around the world talk about sports and if you listen to any of these shows you can take something really positive out of them. Some have on superstars of the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, NASCAR, TENNIS, PGA. Talking about sports is an international past time. here are ten shows to listen for
